Welp! I have been around the sun for 26 years guys! 26 YEARS. It’s been a fun ride filled with many many emotions and experiences. Here are 26 things I have learned in 26 years
-
When someone shows you who they are, believe them…. THE FIRST TIME
-
There are multiple steps on a ladder. You can skip a step or stay on the same step for a while longer. However long your process is for moving from step to step, embrace it.
-
The pen is in your hand; write your story.
-
No one will stop until you set boundaries
-
There is nothing wrong with growth
-
Life is not that serious. Seriously, laugh a little
-
No one cares if you’re going through it. People only are if you’re making it
-
Letting other people shine does not dim your light
-
Not everyone needs to hear your plans, dreams and visions. In the words of Sarah Jakes Roberts – “don’t post about it, pray about it”
-
When people don’t like you, it’s not always because they don’t like you. Sometimes, people see a reflection of themselves in you and project that emotion as dislike
-
If it’s not broken, don’t fix it
-
True happiness comes from knowing yourself
-
The only thing in the way of your success is you. Don’t whine, just work
-
Nobody holds grudges anymore. That is so 2010. Seriously, just let it go
-
Your faith may intimidate people, but your attitude shouldn’t
-
If you’re complaining about change, change
-
GOD ALWAYS COMES THROUGH! ALWAYS!!
-
BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE, TRUST GOD. DON’T TRUST GOD ONLY WHEN ALL ELSE FAILS. TRUST GOD EVEN BEFRE YOU START THE TRUSTING PROCESS
-
A man/woman of faith does not always look like what you may expect
-
Don’t compare your chapter 1 to someone else’s chapter 20
-
Take yourself seriously. That gives people the permission to take you seriously as well. Don’t be careless and expect others to be serious about what concerns you.
-
Life is actually not short. It is very long so make it count.
-
Choosing a spouse is as much your decision as it is God’s
-
It is okay to take a break, but don’t make excuses for laziness
-
You can do anything you set your mind to
-
Follow your heart
Dear Ruth,
Thank you for sharing the lessons of your life. I am truly grateful. A good many of them have resonated with me.
I’m Rya Kuewor, and I’m turning 26 in a few days, and I’d been gently looking for hints that I wasn’t doing too badly. Thank you once more.
Very warmly,
Rya.
Hi Rya,
First of all, happy belated birthday! I am glad my experiences made you feel like you weren’t walking alone. We are going to get “there” one day, but in the meantime let’s enjoy the process.
Hugs and kisses!
Trusting God always
